Called "Lake Maraboon " The Aboriginal meaning 'where the black ducks fly',though at the spillway it's called "Fairbairn Dam" a little confusing! It's just south of Emerald and quite vast ,they say it's about three times the size of Sydney Harbour.Great place for fishing,all sorts of water sports and a nice spot to swim, but just a bit cold for swimming while we were there! Plenty of areas to have lunch we had ours at one of the Lookouts! Lot's of bird life, didn't spot any black swans or pelicans but did come across a large group of cockatoos!
